The Problem We Set Out to Solve
We started SKUTOPIA because online shopping delivery was broken. It was slow, expensive, and full of mistakes. Our founders, Talea Bader and Emily Townsend, knew there had to be a better way.
Our solution? An end-to-end logistics ecosystem offering retailers a SaaS and RaaS (robotics as a service) revolutionary model, eliminating all inefficiencies associated with current 3PL models, including human errors, high staff costs, and carbon-intensive processes.
"Traditional 3PL models are outdated and broken," says our co-founder, Talea. "Our AI platform runs every part of the process from the second a customer clicks 'buy' to the moment the order arrives at their door. We've removed human error, reduced costs by up to 30%, and cut carbon emissions by 75% per order. We're building the 'brain' of future logistics."
Our Funding Journey
Once told their vision was too hard to build, Talea & Emily spent seven years proving otherwise and self-funding the business by reinvesting profits from our previous startup Workit Spaces, mortgaging everything they owned, and piecing together support from high-net-worth investors.

"VCs told us building both an advanced robotics network and an AI software to power them was a recipe for failure. Even executives from one of our now-major corporate partners called our idea 'nuts' after touring our early facility. They asked me to call them back once it worked. Well, here we are."
"Emily and I risked everything. We bootstrapped SKUTOPIA from the profits of Workit Spaces, took on bank debt, mortgaged our homes, chased every grant, and convinced high-net-worth individuals to back us because we believed the future of logistics had to be AI-led and carbon-light," says Talea.
Where We Stand Today
Today, we serve over 500 brands across SMB, mid-tier, and enterprise retail, operating under a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) and SaaS model that is scaling 3X year-on-year.
The $38M round, a mix of equity and debt led by Pemba Capital with support from MA Financial and Blackpeak Growth Partners, will fund the expansion of our robotic fulfilment network and AI platform, both in Australia and internationally.
This bold vision is already paying off. One of our merchants - starting from a $100M base - grew revenue by over 50% in just seven months after switching to the platform while achieving higher profit margins and significantly reducing their carbon footprint.
